Not Working?
Have you woken-up with your home cold as ice only to quickly find out that your home heater or furnace seems to not be working? What do you do?
Here are 3 Easy Steps to Take When Your Heater Doesn’t Work
- Check your thermostat operation. Does it click after you turn the temperature up? Is there power to your thermostat? Does the thermostat work on Air Conditioning?
- Check the Breakers. Is the breaker in the panel tripped? Check near the furnace (some have a separate breaker at the furnace) is it tripped?
- Check the furnace service light. Is it a constant flash (fast or slow)? Is it a constant on? Is it flashing a code, 2 fast 3 short or 5 fast? What does the label tell you the code means? Is there no light?
If any of those do not work – we recommend you hire an experienced HVAC Technician to come-out and work on your home heating system. Providing your technician on the phone with the steps above you took to diagnose your heating system will allow them to better diagnose what your problem may be– before they arrive at your home.
